Why the water inside you matters
Roughly half the human body is water - 50 to 60% in an adult. As we breathe and take oxygen in, those water molecules oxidise little by little, and that becomes one factor in feeling below par. It is the reason you hear people talk about keeping the body from rusting.
DENBA's patented technology works from exactly that idea - keeping water molecules active, creating a reduction environment - by establishing an electric potential in the space around you.

DENBA is not an electrotherapy device that discharges current into the body.
A conventional high-potential therapy device has two or more poles, positive and negative, inside the unit. Electrons move between them, and the affected area receives that effect directly and concentratedly. In other words, the potential is applied straight to the body.

Understanding why DENBA is safe
DENBA uses electricity - electromagnetic waves - at an extremely low level to produce micro-vibration in the water molecules inside the body.
Anything containing water responds: the micro-vibration DENBA emits keeps its water molecules active, and keeps it in condition for longer.
That said, "electromagnetic waves" makes a lot of people uneasy, and it would be dishonest to pretend otherwise.
Understanding what electromagnetic waves actually are is the fastest route to understanding why DENBA is safe.

About frequency
The frequency of an electromagnetic wave is how many times it oscillates per second, measured in hertz (Hz). Ten cycles a second is 10 Hz.
DENBA operates in the extremely low frequency band, at 50-60 Hz.
That difference in frequency changes the effect on people entirely.
The colours you can see are electromagnetic waves too
In the diagram above, the extremely low frequency band sits at around 60 Hz. Go up in frequency and you reach radio waves - radio, television, microwave ovens, mobile phones. They are everywhere around us and we could not do without them. Go higher again and you reach infrared, which most people associate with something rather pleasant. Infrared is an electromagnetic wave as well. A rainbow runs from red to violet through seven colours; infrared is what lies just beyond the red.
Past that is visible light - which means every colour you can see is also an electromagnetic wave.
Beyond violet is ultraviolet, which most people associate with damage - and rightly so. At ultraviolet frequencies (789 THz, or 789,000,000,000,000 Hz) there are documented effects on skin and body. Above that come X-rays and gamma rays, which everyone understands are dangerous enough to destroy cells.
Go the other way, and lower frequencies simply pass through the body without effect.
"Electromagnetic wave" is not one thing. What matters is the band. Some are harmful; some are entirely comfortable to be around.
DENBA sits at the comfortable end
DENBA emits an extremely low frequency electromagnetic field at 50-60 Hz. It emits nothing in the bands known to affect the human body, and it is far lower in frequency than a microwave oven or a mobile phone.
The voltage is not high either, and the output current is about 0.02 A - extremely small. Higher voltage means a higher risk of shock; DENBA's low voltage is why it can be used around older people, children and pets.
Remember what this was built for: preserving the freshness of food people then eat. Applying that same technology to slowing oxidation in the body is a short step, and it is why it can be used for personal care with confidence.

2013: development begins on DENBA+, the electric-field device for food freshness preservation, and on the DENBA FRYER.
2015: Japanese patent granted for a spatial electric-potential freshness-preservation device (No. 5683032), followed by a Chinese patent the next year. From 2017, a joint research agreement with the processing institute of the Jiangsu Academy of Agricultural Sciences, along with a Taiwanese patent (No. I568395), a Chinese trademark (No. 17583663), a Korean patent (No. 10-1759099) and a US patent (No. 9681677). DENBA also received certification from the World Record Association as the refrigerator that best preserves freshness.
2018〜
DENBA Health arrives
2018: building on the food freshness technology, DENBA HEALTH Standard and DENBA HEALTH High Grade go on sale. 2021: DENBA Medical receives medical device certification in Japan, and joint research begins between the University of Tokyo, ITOCHU Corporation and DENBA JAPAN. The following year the University of Tokyo published results from that research on DENBA technology and autonomic nervous activity. Since then DENBA Health has been adopted widely by businesses and households, including APA Hotel's Good Sleep plan.
